From wheat rising from the soil, to bread taking shape, to its final transformation within the sacred heat of the toaster, the life cycle of toast reflects the life cycle of all things in the universe. We are formed, tested, transformed, and eventually returned to the greater Totality.

We strive for the state of perfect golden crispness: tempered by heat, strengthened by experience, but never consumed by it.

For to be underdone is to remain unrealized, and to become burnt is to lose oneself entirely.
